Fall Simmer Pot Recipe
Fall is in the air ya’ll! I made this super simple fall simmer pot yesterday and the whole house smells like fall. Simmer pots are basically stovetop potpourri using fresh fruit and spices, sometimes herbs to create an inviting scent throughout the house.
Here’s what ingredients I used for a simple fall simmer pot.
1 orange, sliced
1 apple, sliced
4 cinnamon sticks
1 tbsp cloves
Slice up your apple and orange. Don’t worry about the peel and rind. I kept them both on.
I’ve used all different types of apples. It was granny smith this time.
You’ll need at least 4 cinnamon sticks. I found them at Walmart for a lot cheaper than at the grocery store.
You’ll also need about a tablespoon of whole cloves.
Add water to your pot. I filled it about halfway.
Add all of your fall simmer pot ingredients to the pot.
It even looks like fall ya’ll!
Bring to a boil for about a minute. Then turn down to low and let it simmer.
Then turn down to low and let it simmer.
If water gets low add more water. I love how this fills the whole house with the smell of fall using natural and fresh ingredients.
You can reuse this the next day, but it’s not as fragrant and on the first day.
