DIY Dollar Store St. Patrick’s Day Banner

I picked up a pack of these foam shamrocks from the Dollar Tree the other day for … you guessed it .. a dollar 🙂 I used some 3/8 inch ribbon that i already had at home and a little hot glue to create this festive St. Patrick’s Day shamrock banner decoration in less than 10 minutes.

This pack of foam shamrocks contained 12 pieces and we spaced them out along the ribbon to create a four foot banner.

Cut a piece of ribbon the length that you would like your banner to be.  Make sure to add a few extra inches at either end of the banner to allow you to tie it or attach it.

Flip all of the shamrocks over so they’re ready for glue.  Add a line of hot glue near the top of the shamrock.  Don’t add it in the middle or too low on the shamrock because this might cause it to flip and show the back of the shamrock rather than the finished front side.

Continue to add shamrocks along your piece of ribbon, spacing them out about two inches at the top. Continue gluing on your shamrocks until you’re done.

We were able to just tuck the extra ribbon under the rest of our mantle decor to hold the banner up.

Hang that cute little banner up and do a little jig.  You’re now officially ready to celebrate 😉
