DIY Wood Cutout Easter Bunny and Carrot Banner
We have another super easy Easter banner idea for Spring for you. Using wooden bunny ornaments and craft carrots that we picked up at the dollar store, we created this farmhouse style Easter garland. We put this banner together in less than an hour and. I love the mix of different textures in the wood, jute twine, the raffia carrots and the pom pom tails.
Supplies You’ll Need
- Wooden cut out bunny ornaments (found at Dollar Tree) We used 3 packs for the banner on our mantle.
- Jute carrots (found at Dollar Tree) We used 2 packs
- Hot glue gun and glue sticks
- Scissors
- Jute twine – We had this on had, but it can be purchased online here
Using your hot glue gun, glue the white pom poms onto the tail of the bunnies. We had the bunnies facing each other so we flipped half of the bunnies over and glued the tails on the opposite side of half of them.
We added a dab of hot glue to the end of the jute twine and pinched it to a point. This made it a lot easier to thread the bunnies onto the banner. Thread the bunnies on so that the twine will run behind the ear without the hole in it. This way you can glue the other ear onto the twine to keep the bunny sitting more straight on the twine. We hot glued the carrot top directly to the twine. Hold up the banner and see if you need to shift anything around before moving on too far. The twine easily popped off the back of the bunnies and we could scoot them around and glue them again. The carrots are a little more finicky to move once they are glued.
You can add the bunnies and carrots in what ever pattern you’d like but we loved the look of two bunnies facing a carrot in between.
